Saab Key Programming

Saab cars that were built prior to 1994 come with an immobilizer system built on coded keys. A new transponder is required for the addition of an additional key, and special programming. This is usually done by the dealer using a Tech2 diagnostic tool.

The problem is that this could be extremely expensive. It is always advisable to keep an extra set of keys at hand.

Transponder key

The transponder is a key equipped with an electronic chip. This chip sends out a signal when the key is put in the ignition. The car will check to see whether the signal matches the one on the key. If the signals match, the car will unlock and start. This is a great method to avoid car theft and keep your vehicle secure from thieves.

Transponder keys are an increasingly popular feature in automobiles, however you should be aware they aren't as secure as traditional metal keys. Jumpstarting the battery

Most people keep the set in their trunk to start a car in case of emergency, but this might not be a good idea for newer cars.
